Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 10, 2026

Veni Navi Vici is a standalone Apple Watch app for tracking water-sports sessions (sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, and kayaking).

The short version

We collect nothing. Veni Navi Vici has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party code. The app contains no networking code at all — your data physically cannot reach us, and it never leaves your devices except through Apple services you control.

This is about the Watch app itself. If you're reading this on our website, see "This website" below for how that's different.

Data the app uses on your device

To do its job, the app works with the following data, always with your permission and only while a workout session is active:

  • Location (GPS). Used live to show your current speed and heading on the watch face, and recorded as a route so your session appears with a map in Apple's Fitness app.
  • Health data. The app records your session as a workout in Apple Health, including the GPS route. As part of workout recording, Apple Watch measures your heart rate and active energy (calories); these are stored by Apple Health, not by us.

Where your data lives

Everything the app records is stored in Apple Health on your own devices. Apple Health data may sync between your devices via iCloud if you have enabled that — this is governed entirely by your Apple account settings and Apple's privacy policy, not by us. We have no access to it, ever.

What we never do

  • No collection, transmission, sale, or sharing of any personal data
  • No analytics or crash reporting
  • No advertising or tracking of any kind
  • No accounts, sign-ins, or identifiers
  • No third-party SDKs

This website

Everything above is about the Veni Navi Vici Watch app, which truly collects nothing. This website (the one you're reading this on) is different: we use Ahoy, a minimal, self-hosted analytics tool, to see anonymous counts of page visits and a couple of button clicks, like the App Store link, the web app's START button, and when the Weather page fetches a forecast. We don't collect names, emails, or any other personal identifiers; IP addresses are masked before they're ever stored; there are no accounts, no ads, and no cookies used to track you across other sites; and nothing is ever sold or shared with third parties.

The Weather page asks your browser for your location and sends the coordinates directly from your browser to Open-Meteo's free weather API to fetch the forecast. Our server never sees your coordinates, and we store nothing.

Your control

  • You can revoke Health and Location permissions at any time in the Settings and Health apps; the app will simply record less.
  • You can view and delete every workout the app has recorded in the Apple Health and Fitness apps.
  • Deleting the app removes it entirely; workouts already saved to Apple Health remain yours to keep or delete there.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
